Rules of the Content Formula
The Content Formula: Part Two
The formula you'll see in part three of this series works, and it will always work.
Unlike most social media systems, The Content Formula doesn't rely on the latest Instagram trend - or, the ever-changing Instagram algorithm.
The Content Formula is based on the principles of human behavior & influence. These principles have never changed, and they never will.
If you work the system, it will work for you - but ONLY if you follow these 3 rules...
1) Respond to all your comments, emails, etc.
The weirdest thing I see people do on social media is ignore comments.
Picture the real-life scenario: You walk up to someone and give them a genuine compliment - and they COMPLETELY ignore you.
Would you compliment them again? Would you even bother to approach them again? Probably not.
If the goal is to get someone to engage, and to build a relationship with them - the WORST thing you can do is ignore their emails and comments.
Respond to EVERY comment. Make your response longer, more interesting, and more informative than the comment you're responding to.
2) Spend 10-15 minutes per day commenting on other people's posts.
The fastest way to build your audience is to engage with people who are not your competition, but have the same type of audience you want.
When you shop online (Amazon, for example), you spend more time reading the comments than you do looking at the product description. The same goes for your social media.
40% of your social media time is spent reading comments on other people’s posts. The same goes for your followers (and, future followers). Spend time contributing to conversations happening in your industry. Be seen, and let the right people follow.
The fastest way to build your audience is to engage with people who are not your competition, but have the same type of audience you want."
3) Accept the fact that not everyone is going to resonate with your content.
When you ditch the pretty photos and inspirational captions and start using the content formula, two things will happen.
1. People will love it.
2. People will hate it.
This is how you know it's working. If you want to build influence, your content can’t be "one size fits all." It has to be custom built for the people you're meant to help (which means some people won’t like it.).
